Persecution of exile is a research project that analyses state, police & unofficial repression of exiles of the Second Spanish Republic in France. This continuous repression originated in the Civil War, stretching to the "witch hunt" operations in France in 1950 (through three wars: the Spanish Civil War, the Second World War & the Cold War). The persecution & repression of Republican exiles affected everyone, from senior officials to the most humble exiles who were deported & exterminated. The Spanish & French states played their part in the entire process, & in the different diplomatic & geostrategic expectations. Working on primary sources gives us insight into these "repressive extraterritorial" policies of Franco's Regime, hard, fanatical & obsessed with the "extraterritorial repression" of the republican exile.
